Spruce up your home decor this Fall with some easy Painted Pumpkin Decorating! Plus with these ceramic pumpkins, this decor can last all season long.

Since I’m fairly picky with what we get now, this actually works out perfectly as I can tailor it to our house and the rest of the decor we already have. So when I got the opportunity to partner with Oriental Trading, I knew I’d be able to create some rockstar pieces for our house this year. (Bonus: they’ve got everything you need for painted pumpkin decorating, too!)

STEPS
The great thing about these pumpkins is that the possibilities are endless! I went with a pretty simple black, white and green approach with simple designs. But depending on the paint colors you have and how intricate you want to get with the designs, painted pumpkin decorating can be simple or much more involved. To get the look I did, it’s fairly easy.
- For the larger pumpkin: Paint the entire pumpkin green up to the stem. Paint the stem black and smooth out the line between the green and the black so it’s not jagged.
- For the medium pumpkin: Use small paint brushes to paint small, medium and large circles all over the pumpkin. Paint the sides of the stem green and the top black.
- For the small pumpkin: Follow the ridges and paint every couple of sections black along with the stem.

I paired these pumpkins with these fantastic Spooky Soiree Lanterns that are now hanging over our mantel. You can also see these Black Bottle Vases in the photos. I can’t wait to turn them into old apothecary type bottles soon! These all worked great together to add some extra fun to our Halloween decor this year!
I may even utilize some of these design ideas for actual painted pumpkin decorating instead of carving pumpkins this year, too!
