I’ve mentioned it in pretty much every Halloween post on here, but Halloween really is one of my favorite holidays. I don’t really have a specific reason, either. No awesome memories or fun traditions. Just a love for this spooky, sugar-laden holiday.
And I won’t lie – a part of me hoped for an October baby when we were trying to conceive because I thought it would be so fun to celebrate a birthday and Halloween together. Obviously it didn’t happen (and I’m just super grateful we have a happy, healthy baby anyway) but that doesn’t mean that I’m not more excited than I usually am for this holiday.
While I know she’ll have zero recollection of this upcoming Halloween, I’m still indulging in the celebrations more than normal. Including finding her a costume.
We have big plans for when she’s older and we dress up with her (we already have our wands and Gryffindor robes.) But this year, she’s on her own. Well, sort of. More on that in a minute.
So what better thing to be than a fierce shark that doesn’t look fierce at all? Seriously. I’m pretty sure she could not be any cuter. This shark costume was pretty much perfect for her and she had a blast hanging out in it.
Since we won’t be dressing up with her yet, we thought Sookie would join in the fun! She’s already taken on the guard dog position in our household so we figured this costume was the perfect match.
She actually loathes being dressed up, but she was pretty awesome during this mini photo shoot. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the bag of treats in my hand, either.
