I’ve got the answer and luckily – the answer is pretty simple! This easy fluffy slime requires just a few ingredients and very little time to make. This quick project is a great way to entertain kids of all ages. Even big kids at heart can have a ton of fun making fluffy slime.
One of the best things about this easy fluffy slime recipe is how versatile it is. The fluffy slime recipe I’m sharing is made with one color, but you can easily change it up with multiple colors. You can also make multiple batches and combine them together to have a tie-dye effect in your fluffy slime.
Another thing kids love is that this is a slime recipe with shaving cream. Keep reading to see why it’s added, but it makes creating this kids slime recipe a ton of fun, too!
Ingredients to Make Fluffy Slime
- 3 Cups Hot Water
- 3 Tbsp Borax
- 1 1/2 Cup Glue
- 1/2 Cup Water
- Approximately 4 Cups borax
- 3 Tbsp Contact Solution
- Food Coloring or Craft Paint

How to Make DIY Fluffy Slime
- Combine your hot water and borax to make the borax mixture. Mix it until the water is clear and set aside.
- In a big bowl, add glue and 1/2 cup of water. Mix thoroughly.
- Add in the shaving cream. (It doesn’t have to be exactly four cups – you can eyeball it!)
- Add in the food coloring (A few drops or more, depending on how deep you want the color for the fluffy slime.
- Using a silicone spatula, stir everything in the bowl until it’s mixed together and then mix in the contact solution.
- Add in the borax mixture 1-2 tablespoons at a time, stirring after. Continue doing this until the fluffy slime is no longer sticking to the sides of the bowl.

Safety Precautions
Be sure to properly dilute the Borax mixture when using. If you have sensitive skin or cuts, we’d recommend using a rubber spatula to avoid the potential irritants when mixing the fluffy slime.

By adding borax, these chains are linked together and are unable to move as easily. When enough of the polymer molecules are connected in the right way, the solution goes from liquid to rubbery to fluffy slime as you mix it.
