While I’ve bought in bulk nearly my entire life (it’s a HUGE time and money saver) – I really started to appreciate the big buys after we had Lily. Especially around the holidays.
Having a kid changes your shopping trips (and just about everything else.)
First off, they’re way less leisurely. Your goal is no longer to stroll up and down the aisles, looking for clearance or awesome new products. Your new goal is to get in, get out, and call it a win if no one was bawling by the end even if you forgot half your list.
Secondly, you care more about your kid and what they need. Every time I forget sometime, it’s not something for her. It’s almost always something I wanted. No big deal most of the time, but when it comes to essentials like toilet paper? Ain’t nobody got time for forgetting that.
And third, you dread going out to the store. So you find any reason not to. “It’s 1 degree colder than yesterday today? Guess I can’t leave the house!”
So you shop on Amazon because Amazon makes it feel like you’re shopping without kids again.
You can shop at your own pace. If you forget what YOU needed, you can just add it to the cart and checkout – no extra trip necessary. And you can do it from the comfort of your own home, in your pajamas while drinking wine.
Which is why Amazon is our go-to all year round, but especially around the holidays. Because I want to be in the store even less around the holidays.
I’d rather be home, baking cookies and watching Christmas movies. Or even preparing for our company. Or pretty much anything but dealing with crowds and sick people and runaway carts.
So we order all of our essentials on Amazon. Especially ones that we use more when we have guests over during the holiday season.
Paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, etc. They all just land on our doorstep after we shop in just a few days. (Same day if you’re in some areas!)
I am happy to say I don’t remember the last time we ran out of any of these thanks to their Subscribe and Save feature and I would like to keep it that way!
Save yourself a trip to the store, shop while you eat bake cookies and drink wine, and get a great deal at Amazon this holiday season. Plus, be prepared for when your toddler learns how fun it is to do this to your toilet paper ;)
