Who says summer reading can’t be fun AND educational? These two childrens books from Gibbs Smith prove that the two don’t have to be mutually exclusive!
Although yes, it is technically summer now, Spring Walk by Virginia Brimhall Snow is still a great read. Kids will enjoy learning all of the vibrant flowers in the book and be entertained by the rhyming story of taking a flower walk with grammy. (P.s. There is a Summer Walk book about bugs as well if you’re looking for something more seasonal!)
Cooking On A Stick is the perfect starter cookbook for outdoor camping. Though geared towards kids, adults can learn a lot from this book as well! Not only will you and your children learn how to prepare some simple, but yummy meals for camping, scouts, backyard fire, etc., you also learn how to actually build the fire, important fire safety tips, what utensils you need to take with you, and more.
