Good moods don’t come naturally to me. I’m not saying that bad moods do either, but staying in a good mood from the time I wake up to the time I crawl back into bed isn’t something that just happens. I have to work to make it happen. Whether it’s thinking happy thoughts, eating the right foods, making sure I’m not spending too much time on the couch, etc – I try to do things each and every day to make sure I stay in the best mood possible. And because I think happiness should always be contagious, I thought I’d share some quick and easy mood boosters!
- Get some sunlight. Can’t get outdoors? Eat or read near a window.
- Go for a ten minute walk
- Sing out-loud to your favorite song
- Write a thank you card or letter to someone
- Cross something simple off your to-do list
- Look at photos from a vacation or special event
- Play with a pet
- Smell a relaxing scent
- Give someone a hug or hold their hand
- Dance to your favorite song
- Eat your favorite fruit
- Write down at least five things you’re grateful for
- Enjoy a daydream about your next vacation
- Do a good deed for someone else
- Organize something
- Watch a video or read a story that makes you laugh or smile
- Meditate
- Indulge in a bit of chocolate
- Stretch
